Classification of Plastics

LEP thermoplastics can be divided into amorphous and semi-crystalline polymers on the basis of their structures.

Amorphous plastics are normally transparent and tend to be sensitive to stress cracking.

They are ideally suited for the fabricating of precision components, due to their high dimensional stability.

Semi-crystalline plastics are opaque, exhibit toughness and have either good or very good chemical resistance.
